About High Rock Farm

Our Orchard's History

Our orchard has been in operation for over 200 years, providing fresh and delicious Chestnuts and Pecans to the local community. We take pride in our sustainable farming practices and commitment to quality. July and August of 2025, the movie “The Bard” was filmed on the estate, premiering at the end of 2025 and early 2026.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at highrockfarm1807@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We grow American/Chinese hybrid ‘Dunsten’ Chestnuts, Pawnee ‘Cape Fear’ and ‘Stuart’ Pecans, and a variety of large and sweet blackberries and blueberries.

For safety reasons, we do not offer a pick-your-own option here on the farm. However, you are more than welcome to come up within our designated hours, or by appointment, to pickup any amount of chestnuts desired.

On the farm we have one set system to processing all of our nuts. Pecans and chestnuts are processed on the same system. If you are allergic to one or the other, DO NOT CONSUME.

Keep chestnuts refrigerated above freezing temperatures for up to 2 weeks, refrain from keeping moist as moisture can cause mold. For optimal long term storage, place chestnuts in a plastic bag with holes and soak in water for half an hour once every 2 weeks; allow to thoroughly dry before placing back into refrigerator.

    1) Preheat oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit

    2) Use a sharp knife and careful cut an ”X” into the flat side of the chestnut

    3) Put onto a slightly greased baking sheet for 20-30 minutes

    4) When cooled, peel outer shell

    5) Enjoy!
